Tabla Rasa is pleased to announce the launch of the new BREUCKELEN Magazine on Saturday, November 22, 2014, from 3:00 until 5:30 PM. The public is invited to meet the founder, Michael Valentine, as well as a number of the featured artists, who will be in attendance to sign copies of this stunning arts-based publication. Works of art seen in the harbinger issue of BREUCKELEN Magazine and created by Otto Neals, Stephen Basso, Philomena Marano, Thomas Bennett, and Audrey Anastasi, will be on display from Wednesday, November 5, through Saturday, December 13, 2014.

ABOUT MICHAEL VALENTINE:

Michael Valentine is a respected and well known authority on book and magazine publishing, and the founder and owner of Valentine New York, a firm that specializes in publishing fine art books and magazines as well as organizing, planning, and curating art exhibitions. The firm first established itself as a unique entity by mounting “The Amistad Collection,” an exhibition that explored key aspects of the rebellion at sea of the African slave ship "La Amistad".

The quarterly fine art publication Valentine New York The Magazine launched in 2003, and soon after, the firm held a show at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, awarding artists a total of $16,000 in cash prizes. In 2005, the firm released "Between the Raindrops," a limited edition fine art book celebrating photographer Hugh Bell. Valentine New Yorkcurrently has sixteen fine art books in various stages of development, and is also the custodian of a collection of approximately 1,000 works of art. October 2014 will see the launch of Breuckelen Magazine, an invite-only art and culture magazine named after the beloved and historic borough of Brooklyn.
